Halliburton-Landmark is looking for an experienced geoscientist that would like to take their career in a new direction, using their skills to drive the development of software products. The position available is for a Product Owner (PO) for the petrophysics and geomechanics software portfolio. This role reports to the Well Analysis Solution Owner as part of the Subsurface software development technical business line.
We are looking for an individual that possesses skills across the petrophysics and geomechanics subject areas. Industry experience applying petrophysical and geomechanical workflows and technologies to real world examples is required. The role is based out of the Halliburton-Landmark offices in Abingdon near Oxford, UK, with travel potentially accounting for up to 10% of their time.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the product meets customer needs, quality and usability expectations, while ensuring positive customer experience.
- Being a member of the scrum team responsible for defining stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritising the team backlog to define features that meet customer expectations, adhering to Agile methodology and best practices.
- Accepting completed stories and working with the QA Lead to ensure test case completeness to the acceptance criteria.
- Updating the product backlog to meet changing market and customer needs upon approval from the senior Product Management organisation.
- Ensuring adherence to Agile Development within the solution development lifecycle processes.
- Working with the Solution Owner, executive management, and external stakeholders to help define solution priorities, product direction, and business and commercial strategy.
- Assisting the Solution & Domain Owners with internal demand channels such as the Sales & Marketing organisations to generate go-to-market and sales-strategy materials, and using these to help prepare regional channels for new software releases.
- Working closely with Delivery Management and the Product Engineering organisation to clearly define scope that drives resourcing needs.
- Providing external product demos and presentations and building relationships with current and new customers.
- Participating in professional societies, producing technical journal articles, and maintaining their technical areas of expertise.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Geoscience or Reservoir Engineering qualification (BSc., MSc. or higher).
- 5-10 years industry experience performing petrophysical well log analysis and interpretation workflows and preferably experience across geomechanics.
- Practical experience using commercial petrophysics software.
- Commercial acumen and business focus to understand the value of the product to the customer and work with a customer centric approach.
- Great communication skills to work collaboratively and be confident working with customers.
- Experience with cross-domain and cross-functional engagement and collaboration.
Additional/Beneficial Experience/Qualifications:
- Practical experience using DecisionSpace Petrophysics and/or Drillworks.
- Previous Product Owner and/or Scrum Master experience.
- Practical experience using ADO or other software development trackers.
- Technical writing, documentation and use case creation.
