We are looking to recruit a Geoscientist to work within our Subsurface teams based in our Abingdon office, Oxfordshire. This position is offered as a 12-month temporary contract, whereby the successful candidate will contribute to product creation across our diverse subsurface product suite.
Essential Skills:- An honours degree (2:1+) and ideally a postgraduate degree in Geology (at least MSc level)
- Data analytical skills and knowledge of databases
- Ability to deliver high quality geoscience interpretations to time and standard
- Experience with GIS technologies such as QGIS, ArcGIS
- A professional attitude and a willingness to learn
- Comfortable working within a team and contributing to the geoscience and technological discussions within the company
- Two to five years' experience in the energy industry
- Experience of wireline and seismic interpretation would be highly advantageous
- Experience with coding and analytical languages such as Python, SQL, PostgreSQL etc.
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with FME Desktop or FME Server/Cloud
- Some experience with sequence stratigraphy
- Population of geoscience databases
- The interpretation of well, outcrop and seismic data
- Making interpretative geoscience contributions towards the digital twin
- Generation of regional geological interpretations, including paleogeographic maps, depth frameworks and common risk segment maps (in ArcGIS and DecisionSpace as required)
- Delivering technical presentations to clients and colleagues
- Ensuring standards and quality
