Job Duties
Halliburton Arbroath is seeking a salvage engineer to support the manufacturing plant. The role involves reviewing manufacturing defects encountered either internally or via external vendors and evaluating them for acceptance, scrap, or rework.
The salvage engineer will be responsible for decisions at assembly and component levels across a wide range of completion tools.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
- A good understanding of mechanical engineering design—reviewing tools and understanding their functions.
- Ability to determine the criticality of features within a component/assembly.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations such as burst, collapse, and tensile strength.
- An understanding of machining methods.
- Capable of managing and prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD programs.
- Experience working in compliance with API Q1/ISO 9001 standards.
- Knowledge of API/ISO specifications governing downhole tools.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Experience working with electro-mechanical equipment.
- Experience handling repair/redress of equipment.
