Hallfield School is seeking a calm, adaptable and capable Cover Supervisor to join our teaching staff, working with pupils from Year 3 to Year 11, providing professional and consistent cover in the event of teacher absence, maintaining the children's learning in the absence of their regular teacher.
- Supervising classes when teachers are absent and delivering lessons planned by subject specialists and form teachers.
- Helping pupils stay focused, maintain good order and ensure consistent learning.
- Providing support with break and lunch duties, marking as directed, and providing clear handovers to other teachers.
- Supporting elsewhere in the school, when teaching is not required, including as an additional adult in science, sports or practical lessons.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, with strong communication and behaviour management skills. Applicants must be degree qualified with relevant experience, working with children (ideally within both primary and secondary settings). A Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or Qualified Teacher Status would be advantageous. Sound judgement and a commitment to Hallfield School's ethos and safeguarding responsibilities are essential, and will be assessed at interview stage. The role will suit someone who is highly organised, adaptable and passionate about enthusing and challenging bright children to achieve their full potential across a range of subjects.
Contract: Permanent, Term time only (35 weeks, plus all INSET days) Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:00am - 4:30pm (with an unpaid break) Actual Salary: Β£23,647 - Β£27,572 per annum, depending on skills and experience. This salary is inclusive of holiday pay
