Full time position Hallfield Teacher Pay Scale (M1-T2) M1 - £32,916 to T2 - £50,618 dependent on qualifications, skills and experience plus annual allowance of £3,975. Hallfield Teacher Pay Scale - subject to salary increase in September 2026 with salaries being in line or above state sector.

In this exciting new position at Hallfield, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable Head of Humanities to join our teaching staff and lead and develop the curriculum for both History and Geography, up to Year 11, with a focus on GCSE. This is a wonderful opportunity for a dynamic, inspirational and qualified teacher with a specialism and passion for delivering outstanding History and Geography lessons at GCSE level, with excellent results to join the School as we expand to Year 11 over the next 3 years (with our first Year 9 cohort starting in September 2026).

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role with the ability to demonstrate their strengths in planning, delivering and developing a high-quality curriculum predominantly for Years 7-11. As a passionate subject leader, we are looking for demonstrable experience in developing and delivering engaging lessons whilst enthusing and challenging bright children to achieve their full potential.

The role will focus on teaching KS3 to KS4 so secondary experience of teaching up to and including GCSE in both Geography and History is essential, with a willingness and/or experience in teaching Religious Studies being an advantage. This role will require exceptional leadership and effective collaboration skills, working in partnership with the Senior Leadership, departmental colleagues and parents. Flexibility, resilience and a willingness to contribute to the overall life of the school including the running of an afterschool co-curricular club is required.
