We are looking to recruit an experienced class teacher for KS1/KS2 to start on 1st September 2026 on a permanent basis.

Teaching and Learning

  • Set challenging teaching and learning objectives relevant to all pupils.
  • Use objectives to plan lessons and sequences, showing how learning will be assessed.
  • Select and prepare resources, plan for their safe and effective organisation, considering pupils’ interests, needs, and backgrounds.
  • Plan opportunities for pupils to learn in out‑of‑school contexts.
  • Produce long‑term and short‑term plans in line with school policy and within required deadlines.
  • Implement and review the subject development plan with the Senior Leadership Team or line manager.
  • Develop and audit schemes of work and other documentation, supporting cross‑curricular delivery.
  • Develop strategies to promote new teaching methods and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Lead or contribute to professional development activities and promote the sharing of good practice.
  • Manage resources within your subject and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain high expectations of pupils and build successful, inclusive, and safe learning environments.
  • Teach clear, structured lessons or sequences that motivate pupils, employ interactive teaching methods and collaborative group work, including the use of ICT.
  • Promote active and independent learning, enabling pupils to plan and manage their own learning.

  • Identify and support pupils with varying ability and those with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.

  • Report attainment to parents, carers, and professionals.

  • Deploy support staff effectively, ensuring they have lesson content and outcomes in advance.
  • Communicate with parents about pupils’ achievements, well‑being, and behaviour.
