We’re hiring a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at our modern brewery site in Blandford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance engineer / shift engineer looking for a stable, long-term role with no night shifts, strong benefits, and genuine career development.

What you'll do as Shift Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Maintain and repair mechanical systems (steam, compressed air, hydraulics, cooling, water systems)
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards (PSSR, LOLER)
- Complete calibration schedules and regulatory checks
- Support continuous improvement and reduce downtime
- Diagnose faults quickly to maintain production
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS / IT systems
- Promote health & safety best practice on site
The skills and experience you'll need – Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer
- Minimum 3 years engineering experience (FMCG, food, beverage, or manufacturing)
- Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Steam systems
- Hydraulics
- Compressed air
- Cooling systems
- Water systems
- Hands-on skills: welding, fabrication, bench fitting
- Knowledge of engineering compliance (PSSR, LOLER)
- Ability to prioritise maintenance tasks and manage workload
- Good IT skills (MS Office / maintenance systems)
- Team player with a proactive approach
