Summary of Role
You will deliver a number of projects whilst leading and managing a team including Operations Managers, Project managers, Project Engineers, Supervisors, operatives and sub-contractors in delivering a number of concurrent projects.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are commercially managed in a professional and proactive manner to protect and enhance the profitability.
- What you will be doing
- Ensuring all projects are delivered successfully, on time and within budget.
- To oversee the line management of a team delivering project works to our clients.
- To hold regular reviews on each project to ensure programme, cost, quality and safety are controlled in line with the business expectations.
- To ensure a high level of service is delivered and develop relationships with key stakeholder clients to encourage repeat business and long term strategic frameworks.
- To assist and develop new opportunities with existing and new clients in line with the business strategy to focus on predominantly end user clients.
- To deliver financial targets to meet established objectives, this will include the reporting of financial status with the support of the Commercial team.
- To lead the relevant project teams to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Engineering standards along with all H&K policies and procedures.
- To ensure works are carried out to high standard complying with relevant British Standards and codes of practice.
- To manage the provision of technical support to the contract.
- To carry out staff appraisals for direct reports setting out training and development programs as required. To take responsibility for the overall performance of your team.
- Maintain a close working relationship with Commercial, Engineering, Estimating / Work Winning and Support teams.
- Assist in final contract negotiations prior to contract award (including such matters as commercial and engineering matters)
- To develop customer relationships and provide excellent customer service.
- Identify and share innovations from across the business and lessons learnt on each project.
- What we will need from you
- Relevant educational background – degree or equivalent experience in Construction/M&E/Building Services
- Comprehensive senior project management related experience within the sprinkler industry
- Leadership/people management experience combined with the ability to develop a team below you
- A proven track record of delivery
- Experience managing multiple projects with diverse scope of works/range of clients
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and skills to effectively problem solve
- High level of self-motivation, organisational ability and drive to meet deadlines
- Commercial and financial skills, along with proven negotiation skills Computer literate IT skills, proficient in Excel, Outlook and Power Point along with project management applications e. g (Primavera, MS Project)
- FIA Qualifications
- You will have client engagement and relationship skills and previous experience in a senior leadership role with a national account or large team
- Proven track record of delivering improvements and innovations in our delivery methods, timescales and processes
