Hall Green School is an academically successful 11-16 Converter Academy within the newly formed West Midlands Academy Trust (WMAT). The role is part-time, 14.6 hours per week (Monday and Tuesday, term‑time only, with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch).
Key Responsibilities
- Pre‑prepare materials for practical lessons.
- Wash and maintain equipment and sink areas.
- Arrange washing of towels and cloths as required.
- Tidy and maintain store cupboards and storage areas.
- Order stock and check deliveries.
- Check the department budget regularly with the Finance Assistant.
- Assist with photography and computer‑based projects.
- Support lessons and help pupils with practical and research tasks.
- Photocopy and scan work to support exam and homework materials.
- Mount and display student work and create displays on specific events and processes.
- Maintain and repair aprons.
- Help hang and organise the final exhibition.
- Maintain the guillotines and laminator in the staff room.
Requirements
- The successful candidate will be reliable, enthusiastic, flexible and a team‑player who communicates well with staff and pupils.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential (Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016).
- The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and related amendments.
- Applicants must be able to provide two suitable references and will undergo Enhanced DBS, Childcare Disqualification checks (where applicable), prohibition from teaching checks (where applicable), and medical fitness assessment.
