Our client is expanding in their Employment departments and are seeking an experienced Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued development of this practice area and will be confident in managing a mixed caseload independently from instruction to conclusion. You will have an interesting and diverse workload and enjoy all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, including the preparation and presentation of cases at Tribunal and delivery of training to clients. Part of your role will be to support senior solicitors, so it is essential that you are a team player and enjoy working in a collegiate environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of union and employee matters, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, whistleblowing, and settlement negotiations.
- Represent clients before Employment Tribunals, Employment Appeals Tribunals, and in pre-claim negotiations.
- Draft and advise on employment contracts, workplace policies, and staff handbooks where relevant to employee rights.
- Provide practical, strategic, and client-focused advice, ensuring excellent service and communication.
- Work collaboratively with union representatives and internal colleagues to deliver seamless client support.
- Contribute to team knowledge-sharing, training, and professional development initiatives.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor (preferably 2+ years PQE).
- Strong knowledge of employment law and tribunal procedure, particularly in employee/union matters.
- Excellent advocacy, drafting, and client care skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-first approach.
