Job Title: Plumbing and Heating Engineer Location: York Salary: Competitive Job Type: Full time, Competitive About Us: Garrowby Estate is located 13 miles east of York and comprises a significant property portfolio made up of the following: Two principal houses 40 let farms 140 let houses and cottages 800 acre in-hand farm Stud farm 1,140 acres of forestry Various commercial properties including a village pubGarrowby Estate and three other estates owned by the Halifax family are managed from the Estate Office in Bugthorpe. There are 41 employees including an in-hand Works Department with a staff of 11 joiners and builders. About the role: A new in house role for an Estate Plumbing and Heating Engineer has been formed to focus on the servicing and maintenance of the residential property portfolio. The majority of properties are served by oil-fired heating and hot water systems, with some renewable technologies installed. An experienced, versatile and skilled individual is required to join the team. The position offers a varied workload within an attractive working environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Buildings Manager and operating from Garrowby Sawmill, the successful applicant will be qualified to City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Domestic Heating or an equivalent field (BPEC/NVQ) and will be required to fulfil the following criteria: Oftec registered Experience in assessing faults and repairing to a high standard Experience carrying out routine boiler servicing Ability to carry out ceramic wall tiling would be desirable A clear understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations Self-motivated and capable of producing high quality work on a consistent and efficient basis Ability to work on own initiative and solve problems Polite and professional manner A friendly character is essential with the ability to interact with a wide range of peopleBenefits: The successful applicant will be entitled to join the pension scheme and the employer will contribute 6% of salary.
