Halian Technology is currently seeking a forward-thinking Development Manager Digital to lead and inspire our growing software engineering team. In this pivotal role, you'll shape the delivery of high-quality digital products that enhance every stage of the customer journey from our websites and mobile apps to backend integrations. You'll lead with technical excellence and a passion for building industry-leading solutions that seamlessly blend digital and physical experiences.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the development of innovative, secure, and scalable digital solutions including CMS, native mobile apps, and web platforms.
- Set and embed engineering standards, ensuring consistency across internal teams and third-party partners.
- Collaborate with Product, Delivery, Architecture, and Security teams to turn business goals into smart digital solutions.
- Guide engineering efforts using Agile, Scrum, and scaled Agile (e.g. SAFe) methodologies.
- Champion a DevOps-first culture, building CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Build and nurture a high-performing engineering team through mentoring, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Play a key role in shaping the future of our digital platforms, from architecture decisions to team structure.
- Track and drive performance with clear KPIs such as Defect Density, Sprint Velocity, Change Failure Rate, and Deployment Frequency.
About You:
- A proven engineering leader with a background in Digital Software Development, ideally in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
- Strong experience with modern technologies including .NET, Node.js, JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js), Kotlin, Swift, and API integrations.
- Skilled in building cloud-native solutions on Azure or AWS, with IaC, observability, and HA/DR patterns in mind.
- Strong knowledge of CMS platforms such as Sitecore, plus experience with modern auth frameworks (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML).
- Confident in working with third-party delivery teams, and able to ensure alignment across distributed teams.
- Hands-on understanding of software development best practices like TDD/BDD and DevSecOps.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for mentoring engineers and delivering at pace.
- Excellent communicator who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional settings.
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Certifications in cloud platforms and an interest in AI are a bonus.
