We are recruiting an experienced Metrology Technician to join a well-established precision engineering organisation on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong dimensional inspection experience who is confident using OGP measurement systems alongside conventional inspection equipment. The Role Working closely with Quality, Engineering and Production, you will be responsible for ensuring precision-engineered components meet the required dimensional and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out dimensional inspection of precision-engineered components Operating and programming OGP measurement systems Creating, updating and step-editing OGP measurement programs Troubleshooting measurement issues and developing accurate, repeatable inspection routines Performing manual inspection using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges and other dimensional inspection equipment Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances Interpreting GD&T requirements where applicable Accurately recording and communicating inspection results Identifying and escalating non-conforming components Supporting Production, Quality and Engineering teams with measurement and inspection queries Maintaining consistent and repeatable measurement and inspection methods About You We are keen to speak with candidates who have: Previous experience within metrology, quality inspection or precision engineering Hands-on experience with OGP measurement systems Experience creating, modifying or step-editing measurement programs Strong manual inspection and dimensional measurement skills Confidence using a variety of conventional measuring equipment The ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and tolerances Knowledge of GD&T Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality The confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider engineering and quality team The Opportunity This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to join a technically focused engineering environment where metrology and dimensional inspection play an important role within the manufacturing process.
