My client is a fast-paced, award-winning digital agency specialising in delivering large-scale, content-rich websites for high-profile clients. Our work combines strategic thinking, user-centred design, and accessibility-first development to create inclusive, engaging digital experiences. As they grow, they're looking for a Senior UX/UI Developer to lead and shape user experiences across major CMS-driven platforms.
The Role
As a Senior UX/UI Developer, you will be instrumental in defining and executing user experience strategies across a variety of client projects. You will bring strong UX research and design thinking to the table, balanced with a keen eye for UI design and front-end best practices. You will work closely with clients, strategists, developers, and content teams to deliver accessible, beautiful, and functional digital products — always designed with WCAG 2.2 AA standards in mind.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead UX discovery activities including stakeholder workshops, user interviews, and competitor analysis.
- Conduct and synthesise user research into actionable insights and design recommendations.
- Develop IA, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas.
- Deliver high-fidelity, responsive, and accessible UI designs using Figma.
- Create and maintain scalable design systems and interaction pattern libraries.
- Work collaboratively with front-end and back-end developers to ensure smooth implementation.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate based on findings.
- Stay up to date with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and ensure they are embedded throughout design work.
- Explore how emerging AI tools can enhance the UX design process and bring ideas into team experimentation.
About You
- 5+ years' experience in UX/UI design within a digital agency or fast-paced digital environment.
- Strong experience designing for large, content-heavy websites, ideally CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal or similar.
- Deep understanding of UX best practices: discovery, research, IA, wireframing, prototyping and testing.
- Proven experience delivering pixel-perfect UI designs and responsive layouts in Figma.
- Demonstrable understanding of accessibility and inclusive design, with work examples aligned to WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
- Ability to balance user needs, client goals and technical constraints.
- A team player who can take initiative, lead workshops, and communicate design rationale effectively.
- Curiosity about the role of AI in design and willingness to experiment with tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc.
- Bonus: experience working in cross-functional agile teams or with front-end frameworks.
