The FX Partnerships Product team sits within the broader FX Product organisation and is responsible for partnering with other business divisions to deliver innovative foreign exchange solutions to institutional clients.
The team works closely with Treasury, Trade and Securities Services functions to develop and enhance FX capabilities that support a diverse global client base.
The Custody FX franchise supports clients across more than 70 currencies through a variety of execution channels, pricing models and workflow solutions.
Leveraging extensive market access, local market expertise and global reach, this role presents a significant opportunity to influence strategic product initiatives and contribute to the future evolution of FX services.
The business is currently undergoing a major programme of platform modernisation and product transformation, making this a highly visible role with strong strategic importance.
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Custody FX Product Manager to join the FX Partnerships Product team.
This individual will play a key role in supporting, transforming and growing the Custody FX business through strategic product development, delivery of change initiatives and enhancement of client solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying market opportunities, developing product strategies, managing stakeholder relationships and driving the execution of innovative FX solutions that address evolving client needs while strengthening the organisation's competitive position.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Product Development & Innovation
- Identify, assess and prioritise new Custody FX product opportunities and innovation initiatives aligned with business strategy.
- Partner closely with product, technology and development teams to deliver strategic Custody FX transformation programmes.
- Collaborate with senior management, sales teams and key stakeholders to define client-driven product roadmaps informed by market research and competitor analysis.
- Work across Custody, Sales, Trading, Technology, Legal, Compliance and Risk teams to ensure product feasibility, regulatory compliance and successful product implementation.
- Client & Partnership Management
- Work closely with key clients and internal business units to design and deliver compelling FX solutions.
- Identify, evaluate and establish strategic partnerships with internal business units, technology providers and external organisations that enhance the FX product offering.
- Negotiate and manage partnership agreements in line with commercial objectives and risk frameworks.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support collaborative product development and go-to-market initiatives.
- Monitor partnership performance and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and drive growth.
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Manage the full product lifecycle of assigned FX products, from ideation and development through launch, growth and retirement.
- Partner with product managers and technology teams to define requirements and deliver market‑leading FX solutions for institutional clients.
- Oversee product testing, validation and quality assurance processes.
- Monitor product performance, gather client feedback and drive ongoing enhancements.
- Ensure products remain aligned with internal policies, governance requirements and external regulatory obligations.
Experience - MUST HAVE CUSTODY FX Experience!
- Proven experience in product management within financial services, with a strong focus on Foreign Exchange products.
- Strong understanding of FX markets, trading workflows, risk management principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrable Custody FX expertise across at least two of the following areas:
- Auto FX
- Direct Dealing
- Currency Overlay
- Hedging Solutions
- Understanding of direct dealing models and electronic FX connectivity supporting institutional client flows.
- Knowledge of the investment lifecycle, cash management processes and FX exposure management within investment portfolios.
- Understanding of regulatory considerations across both local and offshore markets.
- Proven success in launching new products and managing complex product lifecycles.
- Experience of custody‑agnostic workflows, execution models and settlement processes.
