We are looking for a passionate and pragmatic Product Design Lead to build and shape the design function of our fintech client's product within the payments space. This is a rare opportunity to define our client's design culture from the ground up, spanning UI/UX, API documentation, and visual identity across the organisation.

As their first in-house design leadership hire, you will have a pivotal role in making design a strategic force across the business. You will lead by example, setting direction, creating scalable design systems, leveraging AI tools, and contributing directly with hands-on work across product and marketing design.

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing design team covering product design, UX, and visual design.
  • Own and evolve the design of our client's product, from onboarding flows to complex product features.
  • Work closely with Marketing to produce impactful assets that bring our brand and product stories to life.
  • Develop scalable, sustainable design processes, guidelines, and systems.
  • Promote a feedback-rich culture both within the design team and across departments.
  • Stay hands-on—sketching, prototyping, testing, and iterating, especially during early product discovery.
  • Keep up with design trends and tools, integrating AI and modern practices to elevate our design output and efficiency.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 4+ years in a design leadership or senior individual contributor role.
  • A portfolio showcasing both exceptional craft and strategic design thinking.
  • Experience across UI/UX, product documentation, and graphic design.
  • A builder mindset—you can lead teams and still dive into Figma when needed.
  • A proven track record of implementing design processes that drive business impact.
  • Proven experience within the Fintech Space.

This role is based in central London and requires 3 days a week on-site with interview slots immediately available.
