We are seeking an
Infrastructure Engineer to join our technology function.
This role sits at the intersection of traditional infrastructure engineering and the expanding potential of automation and AI‑driven operations.
With most of our environment hosted in Azure and a smaller on‑premise footprint, you’ll work hands‑on across a broad range of technologies while contributing to our modern infrastructure strategy.
- What you’ll be doing
- Develop, support, and enhance infrastructure across multiple office locations and cloud environments.
- Design and implement standardized templates, configuration baselines, and self‑service models for efficient cloud resource provisioning.
- Build and support solutions across compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, COTS, open‑source tools, and cloud services (Iaa S, Paa S, Saa S).
- Automate repetitive or manual tasks to reduce operational overhead and improve consistency.
- Maintain secure infrastructure components, including identity and access management, patching, and disaster recovery.
- Support high‑availability operations through robust processes, monitoring, and controls across cloud and on‑prem workloads.
- Maintain awareness of information security risks and apply appropriate controls to mitigate threats.
- Apply modern engineering practices and infrastructure standards.
- Work with third‑party vendors to ensure the health and availability of hosted or outsourced services.
- Collaborate with the Security Operations Centre on threat detection and incident response activities.
- Take ownership of incidents and problems through to resolution or formal handover.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis to identify and address underlying issues.
- Troubleshoot across a wide range of infrastructure technologies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Act as a second‑line escalation point for issues raised via self‑service channels or the Service Desk.
- What we’re looking for
- Experience managing infrastructure in a Dev Ops‑aligned environment, including Infrastructure‑as‑Code, automation, and enterprise monitoring tools (e. g., Ansible, Terraform, Zabbix, Azure Monitor).
- Strong experience with Linux server administration.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure plus one of: AWS or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of IP‑based networking, WAN technologies, virtualization, cloud platforms, DHCP/DNS, Microsoft 365, and SAN/NAS storage.
- Experience with modern event/log management, alerting, and workflow automation tools (e. g., Power Automate, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Monitor).
- Ability to take ownership of issues and coordinate cross‑functional resolution.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and identify root cause.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and balance competing priorities.
- Sound judgement, pragmatism, and the ability to navigate changing demands effectively.
Work arrangement: 2 days on‑site and 3 days remote.
