We are looking for a Commercial Coordinator to join our growing team and take ownership of the commercial administration across our surfacing projects. This is a key role within the business, sitting at the centre of our operations. You will act as the link between our site teams and the financial side of each project, ensuring works are accurately valued, costs are tracked, and applications are submitted on time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in civils or surfacing who wants to develop their commercial skills in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing valuations by applying contract rates to measured works received from site teams
- Raising and submitting applications for payment and invoices
- Tracking project costs against budgets across multiple live schemes
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date commercial records for all projects
- Liaising with project managers, clients, and accounts teams to ensure smooth payment processes
- Monitoring applications and payments, including following up on outstanding amounts
- Identifying and flagging cost variances to support commercial decision-making
- Assisting with general commercial reporting and administration
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience working within surfacing, civil engineering, or highways contracting
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general Office tools
- Experience raising applications for payment and/or commercial invoicing
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Good communication skills and confidence working with site teams and clients
- Experience using Sage or similar accounting/commercial systems
Desirable
- Understanding of Schedule of Rates (SOR) and measured-term contracts
- Previous experience in a commercial support, estimating, or assistant QS role
- Basic understanding of cost tracking or project budgets
