About the Role

We’re looking for a Retail Media Business Development Manager to join the Halfords Retail Media Network team. This newly defined role will shape our strategy and make a measurable impact across Halfords’ channels, creating a data‑driven marketplace that links brands directly to high‑intent shoppers, fueling sustainable incremental revenue for Halfords and providing unparalleled customer insights for our partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the advancement of capabilities and understanding of the evolving Retail Media landscape across the business.
  • Be a key stakeholder in developing the vision, strategy and ongoing strategy of our retail media solution.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to develop client presentations, bringing our media offering to life in a relevant and tailored way.
  • Support new campaign development, pitch ideas and present campaign strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Retail Media Campaign Manager to drive team performance, mentor junior colleagues and deputise where needed.
  • Manage and grow supplier relationships, maximizing media investment returns.
  • Work closely with tech/transformation teams to develop the proposition and the technical capabilities of our platform toward a best‑in‑market proposition.
  • Understand partner requirements, Halfords commercial and brand goals, and connect them to a clear sales pipeline and roadmap of campaigns and product solutions, staying close to new technologies to enhance our proposition.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Retail and Garages Squads, digital/ecommerce teams, and channel/brand teams to align media with broader retail campaigns and deliver bespoke activity.

About You

We are looking for someone who understands media, thrives in a fast‑paced retail or agency environment, and is passionate about sales, strategy and execution. You will be confident building and delivering a pipeline, managing campaigns from concept to delivery, and comfortable working with suppliers, media owners and internal stakeholders alike.

  • Established experience in a media sales environment with experience of commercial media networks (retail or garages a bonus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence presenting ideas and campaign results.
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset, with a commercial focus on ROI.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach to campaign reporting and optimisation.
  • Leadership potential and experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong client servicing experience / expertise.
  • Excellent understanding and experience of working across key instore, ecommerce and digital media channels; experience managing multiple media channels and supplier relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage cross‑functional projects.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast‑evolving retail media landscape.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing brand partners or clients.
  • Awareness of emerging advertising technologies and platforms that enhance media propositions.
