The role
As a Finance Analyst at Halfords, you’ll be part of the Commercial Finance team that supports our growing Garages division. Working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner, you’ll provide the reporting, analysis and insight that helps shape decisions and drive stronger sales and margin performance. It’s a role with real variety, from month-end reporting and forecasting to ad hoc projects and commercial analysis that directly influence how we operate.
You’re confident working in a fast-paced environment with strong Excel skills and a real eye for detail. Whether it’s analysing risks and opportunities, producing clear KPI reporting, or supporting budget and reforecasting cycles, you enjoy turning numbers into insight and insight into action. You’re also studying towards, or planning to study towards, CIMA or ACCA ready to develop your technical expertise while learning from experienced finance partners.

Key responsibilities
Support the Senior Finance Business Partner in delivering accurate month-end reporting, analysis and insights for the Garages Commercial team.
Provide clear analysis of sales and margin performance, highlighting risks and opportunities to influence decision-making.
Partner with stakeholders across the Garages division to ensure performance is tracked, understood and acted upon.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring relevant cost lines are well managed and assumptions are robust.
Deliver timely, accurate KPI reporting and other management information to support commercial performance.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Commercial Finance to provide ad hoc analysis and support wider team objectives.
Contribute to ad hoc projects and analysis for both the Senior Finance Business Partner – Sales & Margin and the Head of Commercial Finance – Garages.
About you
Studying towards, or intending to study towards, CIMA or ACCA with strong ambition to progress in a commercial finance career.
Previous experience in a finance, reporting, or analytical role within a fast-paced environment.
Highly proficient in Excel with the ability to manipulate, analyse and present complex datasets.
Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of sales, margin, and cost performance drivers.
Comfortable working to tight deadlines with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Confident communicator, able to partner with stakeholders across different levels and functions.
Collaborative and proactive mindset with the ability to work independently when required.
