About Us

Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next.

We’re a place for co‑creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.

Halfords Group plc has transformed from a £1.1bn cycling retailer into a £1.7bn motoring and cycling-led retail, service and B2B business.

This growth is underpinned by a major transformation portfolio, spanning ERP replacement, supply chain integration and operating model change.

This role sits at the heart of ensuring that change lands.

As the UK’s leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we’re supported by one of the country’s largest independent vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair networks through Halfords Autocentres.

This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing.

That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward.

Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence.

About The Role

You will lead the change agenda across Halfords major transformation portfolio, working across Retail, Autocentres, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, Marketing, Digital, Data and Technology.

You will lead an established change team and partner with Project Directors and Executive Sponsors to build readiness, manage adoption risk and ensure benefits are realised and sustained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise change strategy and framework across the transformation portfolio.
  • Lead and develop the team of Change Managers, coordinating demand and capacity across major programmes.
  • Build an integrated change roadmap, managing cumulative impact where initiatives overlap.
  • Embed change into programme design from the outset, working closely with Project Directors and Executive Sponsors.
  • Set organisational readiness criteria ahead of deployments and cutovers and track adoption through to sustained business outcomes.
  • Own the transition into business-as-usual ownership and provide Executive Committee-level insight on readiness and risk.

About You

  • Significant experience leading business change across large-scale, complex transformation portfolios.
  • Proven experience of major technology-enabled transformations, such as ERP and operating model change.
  • Credibility to set the method for major programmes, with strong stakeholder influence and resilience.
  • Experience landing change across large frontline and multi-site populations, not just head office.
  • Able to connect programme delivery activity with colleague behaviour, customer impact, operational performance and measurable business benefits.
  • Experience operating with Executive Committees and senior functional leaders.
  • Reward and Benefits
  • A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, car or car allowance, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.
  • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development.

We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.

  • We offer hybrid working in our Support Centre, you will be based at our Support Centre 3 days a week.
  • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience.

We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.
