Company and Opportunity: This organisation is an extremely exciting start-up, at the intersection of Quantum computing and financial services, applying cutting-edge technology solutions to solve complex business problems for their clients. This position will suit an Engineering Lead/Senior Software Engineer with detailed design, architecture and coding skills who is technology agnostic, can wear multiple hats and has an ambition to grow into a CTO role.
Responsibilities: In this role, you will be joining a start-up organisation which will require you to wear multiple hats. This will include:
- Design, architecture, planning and roadmap
- Taking ownership of the core technical components of the firm’s applications
- Design and build of high-performance, cloud native services that power quantum and quantum-inspired applications
- Define and implement scalable, cloud-native architectures
- Translate quantum and machine learning research into production-ready systems
- Act as a technical authority for your domain
- Work closely with the founders and board members to deliver best-in-class technology solutions
- Ability to hire, grow and manage a team in the medium term
Desired Skills and Attitude:
- Confident in your skills, however NO EGO
- Strong leadership skills
- Background in Financial Services/Trading organisations/Fintech businesses – you also MUST have start-up experience
- Detailed API experience is a MUST
- Strong experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure and/or GCP)
- Strong experience in design, architecture and hands-on coding – (C++, Python, Java, Linux/Unix, Relational Databases, MongoDB, Middleware, Microservices) – experience must be inter-changeable – strong overall technologist
- Ability to translate complex business problems into technical solutions
- Any exposure to quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq) or similar beneficial but not essential
- Exposure to machine learning, HPC, optimisation algorithms beneficial
- Exceptional communicator with previous experience of working with Founders, CEOs and COOs (non-technical) to deliver exceptional technology solutions
