Trainee Lecturer / Lecturer in Physics
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Halesowen College for a Trainee Lecturer / Lecturer in Physics. In this role you will work towards and then deliver effective learning, teaching and assessment that provides a high-quality learner experience to enthusiastic student who are passionate about the subject.
You have the potential to deliver exciting Physics based topics such as Atomic Structure and Radioactivity, Thermodynamics and student led Physics projects across our vocational Science programmes.
Working within teams delivering programmes of study within various curriculum areas ensuring that knowledge, skills, and behaviours of learners enables them to be ready for employment or higher-level studies.
An enthusiasm for the subject and a drive to encourage students to progress within Science or a related discipline is essential.

What will a Trainee Lecturer position mean for me?
Your training needs will be assessed and funded, in particular your studies, towards achieving the Diploma in Teaching (DIT course). A qualification in teaching will provide a practical introduction and a gradual build-up of your skills and knowledge.
Alongside this will be a range of job shadowing and where appropriate, industrial updating to further your knowledge in this specialist area. Time will be allocated for you to undertake the training within your contracted weekly hours.
The College is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and will undertake an Enhanced DBS, safer recruitment vetting and online checks for all successful candidates. Successful candidates will get the opportunity to attain a professional teaching qualification as part of the role. This will include continuous professional development.
