Salary: £32,513 pa – £44,863 pa (Pay Spine Points 18‑29). Hours: Full‑time (35 hours per week). Contract: Permanent. Location: Halesowen College, West Midlands.

We are seeking an inspiring and committed Lecturer and Course Leader for Foundation & Essential Skills who is passionate about transforming the lives of students with SEND and believes wholeheartedly in their ability to make outstanding progress.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop Foundation learners, supporting students with additional needs to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills through inclusive, engaging learning.
  • Act as a Personal Coach and monitor attendance and achievement.
  • Lead course quality processes and work collaboratively with colleagues and families to ensure every learner is supported, challenged and empowered to succeed.
  • Promote independence through real‑life contexts such as travel training, budgeting and community‑based activities; enable students to contribute to local communities.
  • Build positive relationships with learners, staff, parents and external professionals and maintain safeguarding, equality and inclusion commitments.
  • Demonstrate a patient, flexible and student‑centred approach with high expectations, collaborative working and continuous professional development.

  • Committed to safeguarding, equality and inclusion and able to build strong relationships with learners, staff, parents and external professionals.
  • Experience delivering inclusive and engaging learning to Foundation/Essential Skills students, particularly those with SEND.
  • Strong skills in motivating learners to achieve potential and promoting independence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families to support learners.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
