Senior Electrical Installation Tutor in Halesowen

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Halesowen College for an experienced Electrical Installation professional to join our team as a Senior Electrical Installation Tutor.

This role is ideal for a qualified electrician who is passionate about sharing their industry knowledge and inspiring the next generation of electricians. You do not need a teaching qualification to apply – if you are new to teaching, the College will support you gain your teaching qualification through training, mentoring, and support.

About the role

You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across a range of Electrical Installation programmes, supporting learners to progress into employment, apprenticeships, or higher-level study. As a Senior Electrical Installation Tutor, you will also contribute to curriculum development, support colleagues, and help maintain excellent standards across the provision.

Teaching will include areas such as:

• Health and safety in building services engineering
• Principles of electrical science
• Electrical installations technology
• Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
• Understand how to communicate with others within building services engineering

You will create an inclusive, engaging learning environment, provide personalised support to students, and act as a personal coach to help learners achieve their full potential.

What we\’re looking for

• A qualified electrician with a Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification
• Recent industry experience (minimum 2 years)
• Strong communication skills and a passion for working with young people
• Commitment to high standards, inclusivity, and student wellbeing

Teaching experience and assessor qualifications are desirable but not essential – we welcome applications from industry professionals looking to move into education.
