Halesowen College is proud to offer bespoke programmes tailored for electively home educated (EHE) young people aged 14-16, as well as those entering college with limited or no qualifications who may be at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). We are seeking passionate and student‑centred Lecturers to deliver exceptional teaching, learning, and support in personal growth and wellbeing.
Applications are welcome from both qualified and unqualified teachers who can demonstrate flexibility, a trauma‑informed approach, and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable young people. The successful candidate will help learners develop resilience, confidence, and essential skills that will improve their life outcomes and employability.
The EHE and Elevate division offers a range of qualifications, including GCSEs and Level 1 and Level 2 programmes in Personal Growth and Wellbeing. The successful candidate will be required to deliver across a variety of qualifications and subject areas, depending on learner need and programme requirements. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute across the provision are therefore essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing and delivering engaging, inclusive sessions focused on personal growth and wellbeing, specifically tailored to the unique needs of EHE and NEET learners. A strong understanding of current best practices in wellbeing education, youth development, and re‑engagement strategies for young people at risk of NEET is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and monitoring student progress
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to enhance learner outcomes
- Maintaining accurate student records
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to adhering to college policies and safeguarding procedures. The College is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and will undertake an Enhanced DBS, safer recruitment vetting and online checks for all successful candidates.
Successful candidates will get the opportunity to attain a professional teaching qualification as part of the role. This will include continuous professional development.
