The Curriculum Director will have excellent organisational, communication and people skills as well as the ability to think and plan strategically. The role of Curriculum Director, as a true leader in their area, is integral to the success of Halesowen College. Whilst responsible for all of the operational management of their division, the Curriculum Director has strategic responsibilities and is expected to live College values and promote our high-performance culture and inclusive ethos.

The holder of this leadership post will provide a strategic vision for their division, coterminous with the overall College direction and purpose; manage College finances for their area to realise the required contribution rate; lead a broad, accessible and impactful curriculum; ensure the division consistently delivers the highest quality teaching and learning, ensures an exceptional student experience, and will lead, motivate and inspire their team thus achieving all KPIs and strategic goals.

A successful Curriculum Director will be passionate, student-focused, motivated, enthusiastic and supportive. They will also be a strong people manager and be able to successfully achieve challenging and demanding targets and effectively address performance. Ensuring the consistent delivery of high quality teaching and learning, whilst driving forward to realise ongoing quality improvement is pivotal.

The Curriculum Director will have a broad understanding of every course/subject in their remit to develop ideas and ensure the curriculum remains purposeful for students and employers. With financial responsibility and curriculum planning requirements, the Curriculum Director must have financial acumen, understand costs and income streams and develop commercialism to skillfully manage the drivers of quality and finance.

The Curriculum Director will contribute to the delivery of strategic objectives, annual plan, QIP and accountability agreement and be accountable for divisional performance. The Curriculum Director will also be a positive role model and an ambassador for Halesowen College. Working collaboratively, making links to support the skills agenda and educational priorities, working as part of local regional and national groups and representing the College at external events.

The College is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and will undertake an Enhanced DBS, safer recruitment vetting and online checks for all successful candidates.
