Animal Care Technician – Whittingham Road Campus, Halesowen

Halesowen College is home to a sector leading animal care facility, that prides itself on providing the highest standards of animal welfare, as well as providing the best learning environment for its students.
Due to increasing student numbers, the department is looking to employ a full-time animal care technician with practical teaching responsibilities. The successful applicant will have a working knowledge of a broad range of taxa, with a particular interest and experience in small mammals.
Animal care technicians are expected to work under their own initiative and be proactive in problem solving.
If appointed, you will have an active role in the development of the animal unit and its diverse collection of species as well as assisting the Animal Unit Manager in the advancement of best practice.
Animal Care Technicians are required to work weekends and holidays on a rota basis, with weekend time working being given in lieu the same working week.
It is our intention to hold interviews for this role on 15th July, applicants will be informed by 10th July if they have been shortlisted for interview.
The College is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and will undertake Enhanced DBS and safer recruitment checks for all successful candidates.
