My well-known client based in Biggleswade are currently looking for a Press-Brake Operator to join their team, on a Temp to Perm basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the relevant experience looking to progress within this industry.
Role Purpose of the Press-Brake Operator:
To set and run presses to produce both cosmetic and non-cosmetic pressings to an agreed quality standard and component drawing, utilising machinery and equipment as effectively and efficiently as possible. You will also be involved with using the guillotine and possibly trained in Laser Operations as the role develops.
Skills/Requirements of the Press-Brake Operator:
- Experienced in programming and running a Brake Press
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and use your experience to advise on the best way possible to manufacture the product for the internal customer
- Excellent communication skills
Main Duties of the Press-Brake Operator:
- Produce good quality components to the required hourly rate
- Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings
- Run, bend and form operations using standard and custom punches
- Use a CNC controller to input information into the machine
- Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions
- Check height, depth and thickness using micrometres, dial indicators, callipers, and gauges
- Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminium & regular steel)
