We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with strong CNC turning experience and practical knowledge of Mazak machinery and Mazatrol controls. While advanced Mazak and turning expertise is preferred, we are also open to candidates with solid general CNC machining experience who have some exposure to Mazak equipment and are keen to develop their skills further in these areas.
Job Responsibilities
- Set, operate, and (where required) program CNC turning machines
- Work primarily on Mazak equipment, producing high‑precision components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CNC programs
- Perform first‑off, in‑process, and final inspections using precision measurement tools
- Maintain machine performance by completing routine checks and basic maintenance
- Ensure components meet tight tolerances and quality standards
- Follow ISO9001 procedures and support continuous improvement, Lean and 5S activities
- Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust programs and tooling where required
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation
- Work safely, adhering to company HSE requirements
- Support smooth workflow across the machining area and assist colleagues where needed
Skills Needed
Essential / Strongly Preferred
- CNC turning experience in a production or machine shop environment
- Experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol or Fanuc controls
- Ability to set up tooling, work holding, and machine parameters
- Strong understanding of machining processes, feeds, speeds, and tooling
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Skilled in using precision inspection tools (micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Good problem‑solving ability and a proactive approach
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
Beneficial / Flexible Areas
- Advanced Mazatrol programming (training can be provided for the right candidate)
- Experience with 3‑, 4‑ or 5‑axis CNC equipment
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methods
- Previous work within an ISO9001 environment
