Brazer Reports to: Production Manager Position Overview The Brazer is responsible for preparing, assembling, and brazing components and sub-assemblies to engineering specifications and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, safe working practices, and a commitment to achieving production targets while maintaining high levels of quality. Key Responsibilities Production & Quality Perform brazing operations in line with drawings, work instructions, and company standards. Prepare and assemble components prior to brazing. Inspect completed work and identify any quality issues. Maintain a "Right First Time" approach to minimise rework and scrap. Complete production records accurately and support quality improvement activities. Health & Safety Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures. Use PPE correctly and operate equipment safely. Report hazards, defects, incidents, and near misses promptly. Comply with COSHH requirements and safe handling procedures. Equipment & Housekeeping Carry out routine equipment checks and report faults. Maintain tools and equipment in a safe condition. Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with 6S standards. Teamwork & Continuous Improvement Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business. Support training, team activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Demonstrate flexibility to assist other manufacturing activities when required. Skills & Experience Essential Experience in brazing, soldering, welding, or a similar manufacturing process. Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions. Good attention to detail and manual dexterity. Strong awareness of health and safety requirements. Ability to work effectively within a team. Desirable Manufacturing or engineering experience. Experience within an ISO-regulated environment. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 6S principles. Relevant engineering or manufacturing qualification. Working Hours & Benefits Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30 Friday: 07:30 - 13:30 39-hour working week Overtime paid at time and a half (when available) 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Pension scheme Occupational sick pay Key Measures of Success Achievement of production targets Quality and reduction of rework Compliance with safety standards Good attendance and reliability Contribution to continuous improvement and housekeeping standards
