Job Description

Hales Group are recruiting a skilled Motor Vehicle Technician to support a busy and well-equipped training environment. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a mechanical background who enjoys working with tools, maintaining equipment, and supporting learners in a workshop setting.  Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and service workshop equipment, keeping accurate records
  • Promote and uphold high standards of health and safety
  • Demonstrate correct use of motor vehicle tools and equipment to staff and learners
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in workshop areas
  • Manage stock levels, prepare orders, and process deliveries
  • Carry out PAT testing across workshops, classrooms, and staff areas
  • Conduct risk assessments for tools, equipment, and practices
  • Support teaching staff by:
    • Preparing materials and practical aids
    • Coaching students in small groups or one-to-one sessions
  • Provide technical support across departments as needed

  What We’re Looking For Essential:

  • Relevant vocational experience or qualification in motor vehicle or mechanical disciplines
  • Basic IT skills and strong communication abilities
  • Experience in a customer-focused environment
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and health & safety standards
  • A team player who is flexible, reliable, and safety-aware
