Job Description
- Effectively liaise with and support a small in-house electronics design team
- Take accountability for the department's success in meeting delivery, quality and efficiency goals
Electronic Design
- Client liaison, understanding requirements throughout project life cycles
- Create electronic CAD designs using Altium Design, designing efficiently for test, manufacture, environmental aspects and any other aspect relevant to the client
- Design analogue and digital electronic circuits and systems tailored to client needs
- Specify and design firmware and software pertaining to client designs
- Specify or manage the outsourcing of mechanical enclosures or other project elements that are not considered the company's core competency
- Design testing hardware and procedures to ensure all production units meet the Design Specification
Documentation & Operational Support
- Maintain accurate records to help assess the accuracy pf project quotations
- Keep comprehensive record to assist the Operations Director in updating project plans and operational understanding of project progress
- Support other departments, such as Operations and Sales, to support functions across the business
- Perform additional duties as required
Main Requirements as an Engineering Manager:
- Proven experience leading a technical team, ideally within the electronics industry
- Expertise in Altium for electronic CAD design
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, including strong capabilities in interpreting client requirements
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision
- Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset
