Hales Group are recruiting for an Operations & Systems Manager to join our client based in Halesworth, Suffolk. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business in a newly created role where you'll work closely with the Directors and play a key part in improving systems, processes and operations across the company. We're looking for an enthusiastic, technically minded individual who enjoys solving problems, working with data and finding better ways of doing things. This role would suit someone looking to take the next step in their career and gain exposure to multiple areas of a successful business, including systems, customer operations, reporting, compliance, logistics and process improvement. This is a permanent, full-time position offering genuine long-term development and progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Become the in-house expert for the company's ERP system
- Support the onboarding and ongoing operational management of key customer accounts
- Coordinate EDI requirements and customer-specific processes
- Investigate and resolve operational, systems and process-related issues
- Act as a key link between office, warehouse and external partners
- Assist with software improvements, integrations and testing
- Produce reports and analyse data using Excel and internal systems
- Support KPI reporting and business performance monitoring
- Maintain and organise technical, compliance and product documentation
- Assist with customer questionnaires and compliance requests
- Support export documentation, freight quotations and logistics administration
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automate tasks and reduce manual processes
- Help standardise procedures and improve the organisation of business information
- Support business projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Highly confident using IT systems and business software
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Naturally inquisitive with the ability to investigate and resolve issues independently
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
- Confident communicating with colleagues, customers and external suppliers
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Experience with ERP systems, EDI, Microsoft 365 or Power BI would be advantageous
- Interest in automation, process improvement and AI technologies desirable
