Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Design Engineer to join our client’s team in Eye, Suffolk.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on customer-focused engineering projects, producing accurate designs, drawings, and Bills of Materials that support efficient manufacturing and project delivery.
Working closely with the engineering, production, and project teams, you'll play a key role in developing innovative design solutions, enhancing 3D designs and ensuring products are delivered om time.

- Monday to Friday - 9.00am till 5.00pm

Duties Include
- Produce and review approval, fabrication, and construction drawings, ensuring accuracy and delivery within agreed timescales.
- Create and check Bills of Materials (BOMs) and parts lists, ensuring they are accurate, up to date, and released efficiently to production.
- Work closely with customers, colleagues, and manufacturing teams to ensure clear communication and the smooth flow of information.
- Support the ongoing development and use of Autodesk Inventor 3D and Vault Professional across the Engineering & Design team.
- Apply Design for Manufacture principles and value-engineering techniques to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Follow engineering best practice to design out hazards and minimise risk wherever reasonably possible.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that improve processes, efficiency, and overall team performance.
- Actively support Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO 9001 quality initiatives to enhance business performance.
Skills and Attributes
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor 3D, Solid Works, or similar 3D CAD software, along with Auto CAD.
- Able to work independently, using initiative to deliver high-quality, accurate work within deadlines.
- Strong engineering and manufacturing background with sound technical knowledge.
- Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Familiarity with ERP systems would be advantageous.
- Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, or relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of i Logic, Python, or other automation/programming tools would be beneficial.
