Hales Group are recruiting for a CNC Machinist / Toolmaker to join our client based in Beccles, Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading global manufacturer within a skilled Toolroom environment. Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you'll be responsible for manufacturing new tooling, maintaining existing tooling and supporting production operations with high-quality precision engineering solutions.

Package & Benefits

  • Location - Beccles, Suffolk
  • Hours - Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-13:00
  • Salary - £37,405.55 per annum

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture new tooling and ancillary components using a variety of machine tools and equipment
  • Maintain and repair existing tooling to support production requirements
  • Carry out CNC milling and turning activities to produce high-quality components
  • Work accurately from engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Produce components to tight tolerances and high-quality finish requirements
  • Use precision measuring equipment to inspect and verify completed work
  • Support production teams with tooling and engineering-related requirements
  • Ensure all work meets required quality and workmanship standards
  • Adhere to Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures at all times
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the Toolroom
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support operational efficiencies

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a machining, toolmaking or precision engineering environment
  • Milling and turning experience
  • CNC machining experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Strong engineering and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Desirable

  • Toolmaking experience
  • Hurco control experience
  • Fanuc control experience
  • Toolroom environment experience
  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent training
