The Haleon Technical CMO European team in Quality and Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity to work on various projects, pack types and machinery across the business. The successful candidate will be working on transfers, NPI projects, sustainability projects and more.

Job Purpose

The Technical Packaging Manager will be responsible for providing packaging technology expertise, knowledge, advice and leadership to ensure the CMs in region meet both their Supply and Commercial objectives. This role covers multiple packaging types and processes across a wide range of product brands, so knowledge and experience are required to operate effectively. This role will also interact with a wide and diverse number of interfaces both internally and externally at all levels within an organization. The ability to manage such stakeholders in a matrix environment is important.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolution of Packaging Supply and Quality issues.
• Execute Packaging related value-engineering, technical transfer and cost saving opportunities.
• Ensuring packaging, procedures, and documentation are compliant with local law, regulatory requirements, codes of practice and Haleon internal standards.
• Providing Packaging expertise and knowledge to the business to drive improvements via materials, equipment, and processes - feeding back into the Categories to ensure optimal NPI developments and launches as required.
• Author and maintain high quality specifications and test methods within the global Packaging Documentation system for Packaging components.
• Recognized as the subject matter expert on Packaging materials, processes, and specifications in the Region.
• Helping to transfer packaging knowledge and expertise in material science, packaging processes, and product/packaging competencies to the CM or site operations, as relevant.

Job-Related Experience

• Experience of working in Technical Packaging role in Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Personal care or food-based industries, ideally a multinational FMCG company.
• Wide mix of materials and manufacturing and processing technology understanding.
• Thorough understanding of supply chain Packaging requirements from concept through to manufacture, distribution, store, consumer and end of life.
• On-site experience working on multiple large projects simultaneously.
• Lean manufacturing, six sigma and DOE techniques/methodology.
• Knowledge of Regional Packaging legal, regulatory and sustainability landscape.
• Stakeholder management across a matrix organization.
