Role Summary
The Senior Manager, Global Promo & Market Research is part of the Global Indirect Procurement organization and will be responsible for all category management and sourcing activities for the Promo & Market Research category globally.
This role reports to the Director, Global Promo & Market Research.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy and execution – manage a spend of £20m+ for Global Promo & Market Research categories, develop and implement global category strategies within your area of spend, and ensure integration with BU strategies.
- Benefit delivery – deliver benefits identified in strategies through collaboration with BUs, manage financial benefits in accordance with the Procurement Plan and Savings Methodology, and ensure transparency on budgeting.
- Business partnering & stakeholder management – influence global and regional stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development, endorse recommended strategies, and agree on benefit budgeting.
- External supplier relationships – build strategic relationships with key global suppliers, lead vendor processes to ensure value, manage supply base performance, and lead contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance.
- Supply chain & risk management – transform the supply chain to release value, reduce cost and complexity, and improve responsiveness using best practice procurement and KPIs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum level of education: Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred).
- Area of specialization: Procurement, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing.
- 5+ years of operational procurement experience across multiple categories.
- Excellent knowledge of procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development and more.
- Demonstrated expertise in category strategy development and implementation, stakeholder management and supplier relationship management.
- In-depth understanding of external environment and supplier relationship models.
- Strong knowledge of finance (cost benchmark, financial audit with key suppliers) and legal matters (contracting).
- Clear understanding of business value, priorities, and implementation risks.
- Significant experience working in a matrix (global/ regional) business environment.
- Strong networking skills and proven ability to build collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders and business partners.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to drive, implement and support change.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks across projects using project management skills.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and influencing skills.
- Experience working in high-pressure environments and under tight deadlines.
- Experience with risk management.
- Motivation for professional development and willingness to coach, mentor and train others.
