The Manager, Global Promo & Market Research, is part of the Global Indirect Procurement organization and is responsible for category management and sourcing activities for the Promo & Market Research category worldwide. This position reports to the Director, Global Promo & Market Research.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of global category strategies for the Promo & Market Research spend area, creating the strategic foundation for regional and BU strategies.
- Manage a global spend exceeding £20m, ensuring alignment with regional and local market requirements while maintaining a global perspective.
- Develop comprehensive global sourcing strategies, collaborate with BUs, and build an education and communication process for regional and BU procurement leads.
- Act as the global expert on the spend categories, ensuring strategies reflect Haleon's sustainability and diversity objectives.
- Deliver benefits identified in strategies through effective execution with BUs, focusing on assurance of supply (risk management), quality, service, cost, and innovation.
- Manage financial benefits in accordance with the Procurement Plan and Savings Methodology, ensuring agreement with business units and Finance on value delivered.
- Influence key global and regional stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development and execution, and to agree on benefit budgeting.
- Build strategic relationships with key global suppliers, lead value‑driving processes, and manage the supplier base through robust performance management.
- Negotiate, execute, interpret and maintain contracts with global suppliers, maximizing opportunity and developing operational excellence plans to improve KPI performance.
- Transform the supply chain to release value and enhance responsiveness, focusing on cost control, complexity reduction, simplification, best practice procurement, and KPI use.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Procurement, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or Marketing.
- Minimum of 5 years of operational procurement experience across multiple categories.
- Expertise in category strategy development, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong knowledge of procurement tools, finance (cost benchmarking, financial audit with suppliers), and legal matters (contracting).
- Experience working in a matrixed (global/regional) business environment and ability to build productive relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Leadership skills, change management ability, and project management experience to prioritize multiple tasks across projects.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and influencing skills; ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Experience with risk management and a motivation for professional development, including coaching, mentoring, and training others.
