About The Role: This senior position is critical to protecting our corporate assets and managing the organisation’s day-to-day operational cybersecurity defences. The role focuses on the proactive, in-depth analysis of sophisticated threat actors. The primary objective is to develop and implement counter-measures by understanding the adversary’s tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) at a deep, technical level, moving beyond traditional security monitoring. The primary goal is to shift security posture from reactive defence to proactive, adversary-centric operations.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
- Defines and executes threat hunts to search for undetected malicious activity within the organisation’s IT and OT environments.
- Develops hypotheses, methodologies and tooling to proactively search for indicators of compromise (IOCs) and indicators of attack (IOAs) that evade automated defences.
- Supports Red team activities that simulate realistic, multi-layered attacks against the organisation’s people, processes and technology, thereby rigorously testing the effectiveness of SecOps and IR.
- Detects and neutralises advanced threats in the early stages of the kill chain, minimising breach impact and improving overall organisational resilience.
- Creates high-fidelity detection signatures, behavioural analytics, and security control policies to specifically counter known and emerging adversary TTPs.
- Collaborate closely with the Incident Response team during major breaches, acting as the primary subject-matter expert (SME) on the specific adversary being engaged.
Business Expertise: Deep understanding of the cybersecurity landscape, including industry-specific threats and compliance requirements. Strategic knowledge of the business environment, regulatory landscape, and competitor capabilities. Ability to align cybersecurity initiatives with business objectives and risk management strategies.
Problem Solving: Tackles complex, evolving cybersecurity challenges requiring innovation and adaptability. Makes high-stakes decisions under pressure, balancing rapid response with thorough investigation. Navigates regulatory requirements, emerging technologies, and human factors in cybersecurity.
Impact and Influence: Establishes and maintains relationships with other Senior professionals in the cyber security world to facilitate the flow of information. Lead efforts in developing security awareness training for the broader organisation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Is a key member of the Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) during major cyber incidents. Establishes and maintains relationships with other investigation and remediation teams within the company, working closely with them to address the full spectrum of security issues.
Qualifications Skills: Preferred Experience: 5 years in cybersecurity, with some experience of responding to significant cyber incidents involving Organised Crime and Nations State threat actors an advantage. Experience working across international manufacturing / supply chains. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Certifications: CISSP, GCIA, GCDA, GSOC, GCIH. Preferred Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
