About the role: The Global Internal Communications Team leads the development and successful delivery of the company-wide internal communication strategy. Driving internal communications at a group level and supporting functional Executive Team members with a key focus on building colleague engagement with Haleon’s ambitions, priorities, leadership and company culture.
In this role you will support the Global Head of Internal Communications in executing all aspects of Haleon’s global (enterprise-wide) internal communications and engagement strategy. As well as supporting function Executive Team members – by providing strategic communications advice, developing internal communications strategies for several of our functions, supporting their transformation agendas, creating high-quality content and ensuring alignment with Haleon’s strategic objectives and enhancing employee engagement.
Working closely with the Senior Manager and Global Head of Internal Communications, the role plays a key part in ensuring functional communications are strategic, well-planned, effectively delivered and meet a high-standard. This is a role for someone who is confident working with senior stakeholders, enjoys both strategic and practical delivery, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Role and Responsibilities
- Communications strategy and planning: Be a strategic communications partner to function stakeholders providing strategic communications advice, supporting the development and delivery of internal communications, strong relationships and strong understanding of functional strategies, transformation agendas, and priorities, identifying upcoming communications needs and ensuring timely delivery.
- Advise on best practice communications and work with functional stakeholders on execution.
- Work with global internal communications colleagues on enterprise-wide communications coming out of the functions, and deliver compelling colleague engagement campaigns to build pride and belief in Haleon and our company culture and to support business objectives.
- Ensure robust measurement and evaluation of communications and campaigns to drive ongoing improvements and deliver against set goals and outcomes.
Storytelling:
- Drive employee engagement through impactful and effective storytelling including writing and editing high-quality internal content such as leadership messages, announcements, briefings, and other key audiences and ensure communications are appropriately tailored and adapted for employee audiences.
- Create a wide range of internal communications content and tools that are relevant to the broader business and can be used/tailored by individual functions.
- Provide support and planning for the HET members in managing their internal and external social profiles (via Viva Engage and LinkedIn) in partnership with the wider Global Communications Team.
Channels:
- Work in close partnership with other members of the Global Internal Communications Team responsible for global internal channels to ensure fully integrated and aligned approach.
- Manage the use of internal communications channels for functional content, ensuring output is timely, accurate and well-presented.
- Follow established channel strategies, templates and governance.
- Support continuous improvement by sharing feedback and insight on channel effectiveness.
- Adapt communications and content for different channels and formats as required.
Collaboration and team contribution:
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Global Head of Internal Communications Team and wider global Internal Communications Team to ensure a consistent approach across functions.
- Contribute to shared tools, templates and ways of working – not only across Global Internal Communications but the wider Global Communications Team and Corporate Affairs function.
- Support a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Essential experience:
- Strong knowledge of and experience of internal communications communication and engagement.
- Experience of working in a business partnering role.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with fluctuating and changing demands.
- Experience of developing and delivering internal communications and engagement strategies including robust measurement.
- Strong verbal and written and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging and effective content.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with a proven ability to operate in an advisory capacity with all levels to achieve good outcomes.
- Ability to build strong networks and judgement, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure and manage complex issues.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a real team player.
Desirable experience:
- Experience working in a global/consumer/FTSE 100 of global-facing role desirable.
- Familiarity with internal communications channels and tools.
