About the Role
We are accelerating our journey towards a fully connected, data-driven, and future-ready manufacturing operation. The Digital Factory Lead is a pivotal architect of this transformation, shaping and deploying Haleon’s Factory of the Future vision across our global sites. This role partners closely with Quality and Supply Chain (QSC), Technology, Data, Manufacturing Sites, and the Global Operational Excellence team to build the digital foundations that enable world-class performance, operational excellence, and empowered teams.
This senior leadership role goes beyond delivering individual digital projects. It orchestrates an integrated portfolio of digital workstreams that are hard-wired to Haleon’s manufacturing excellence strategy and our definition of “what great looks like.” The Digital Factory Lead ensures that every digital solution—whether foundational infrastructure or advanced use case—contributes directly to productivity, resilience, and long-term capability building across the network.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and lead Haleon’s Factory of the Future strategy, ensuring digital foundations, platforms, and capabilities are aligned to the manufacturing excellence vision and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Partner closely with manufacturing sites to understand operational needs, co-create digital use cases, and ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and embedded into daily operations.
- Collaborate with the Global Operational Excellence team to align digital workstreams with HAPS, capability building, and Haleon’s broader manufacturing excellence roadmap.
- Lead the team to define and implement core digital systems (e.g., MES/PAS-X, connected worker platforms, OEE solutions) as part of an integrated digital architecture.
- Translate site needs into a unified digital roadmap, ensuring use cases are prioritized, standardized, and embedded into a cohesive network-wide digital operating model.
- Act as a strategic influencer across business, technology, engineering, and quality, championing IT/OT convergence, data governance, and platform-based thinking.
- Provide governance and oversight for digital foundations and use-case portfolios, ensuring resources, timelines, and investments support the broader Factory of the Future vision.
- Benchmark externally (e.g., Gartner, McKinsey) to integrate leading practices and ensure Haleon remains at the forefront of digital manufacturing.
These responsibilities require a strategic, collaborative leader with a deep understanding of digital transformation, manufacturing systems, and the ability to drive results in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Core Competencies
- Visionary Digital Leadership: Shapes a bold Factory of the Future vision and connects it to site-level execution and manufacturing excellence.
- Influence Without Authority: Builds alignment across diverse technical and business teams; drives decisions in complex, matrixed environments.
- Operational & Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of manufacturing systems, digital platforms, and IT/OT infrastructure required for a modern factory ecosystem.
- Value-Driven Portfolio Management: Prioritises and sequences digital workstreams to maximize impact, scalability, and long-term capability building.
- Collaboration & Communication: Builds trust across functions, sites, and geographies; translates complex digital concepts into clear, actionable direction.
- Innovation & Agility: Challenges legacy ways of working, embraces experimentation, and drives continuous improvement across the network.
