About the role:
Part of the GB Finance team and reporting to the GB & Ireland Finance Director, you will be the finance business partner to the Pharmacy & DComm Sales and Commercial Excellence teams. Ensuring channel P&L performance and effective returns on trade fund investment. You will work cross functionally to deliver accurate forecasting, detailed understanding of channel and brand performance and financial leadership. As a key member of the GBI Commercial Finance team you will be instrumental in influencing and collaborating with our commercial functions to drive commercial decision making, return on investment and business planning.
Key responsibilities:
- Month End: Ownership of the month end process to ensure accurate, timely and compliant closure of the month and understanding of the business’s financial performance. Deliver insightful commentary and manage all associated controls.
- Cashflow & Control: Work cross functionally to ensure receivables & overdues balances are managed and forecasted accurately. Drive overdues issues to resolution.
- JBP Process & Customer Agreements: Partner with the Commercial Excellence & Sales Teams to deliver customer JBP agreements (planning, review, and negotiation); Business cases (ROI); Negotiation walkaway points; Pre & post promo evaluation support.
- Trade Funds: Partner with sales to manage the trade funds P&L line. Ensuring trade spend is tightly managed and evaluated to ensure appropriate accruals and P&L reporting.
- Business Partnering: Provide expert advice to the Sales & Commercial Excellence teams by proactively identifying opportunities and raising challenges to meet business objectives and mitigate risks.
- Deliver the Plan: Work in partnership with Sales to ensure accountability and delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual sales & profit targets and other KPI’s. Ensure clear and consistent communication of performance and issues to key stakeholders.
- Account Planning & Channel Targets: Support the sales teams to translate overall business plan into meaningful account plans to ensure understanding and ownership for delivery across the accounts. Ownership of the channel target setting process.
- Controls, Compliance & Audit: Manage all relevant SOX & internal controls, ensure ways of working and processes are compliant and manage the internal and external audit reviews to ensure no findings.
- Insight: Provide financial analysis using internal and external information providing necessary insight and clarity to support & lead decision making.
Qualifications and skills:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, to include modelling, analysis, evaluation, and forecasting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to gather and analyse internal & external data from a wide range of sources in order to drive commercial insight.
- Business partnering, build strong relationships, ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at various levels.
- Experience working in a commercial business environment, P&L ownership and partnering with stakeholders responsible for performance delivery.
- Ability to understand the commercial and financial impact of decisions.
- Strong team player.
- Excellent Excel, PowerPoint skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working within the FMCG industry.
- SAP experience beneficial.
- Relevant degree and/or professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent); part qualified will also be considered depending on the level of experience.
