About the role

The R&D Tech Business Partner – Oral Health is accountable for end‑to‑end technology leadership supporting Haleon’s Oral Health category strategy. This role partners closely with Global Oral Health R&D, Category, and Market teams to translate scientific ambition and consumer needs into scalable digital, data, and AI‑enabled capabilities that accelerate innovation, claims, and competitive advantage across toothpaste, mouthwash, devices, and therapeutic adjacencies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy & Technology Enablement
    • Act as the primary technology partner to Oral Health R&D and Category Leadership.
    • Translate Oral Health growth and superiority strategies into multi‑year digital, data, and AI roadmaps.
    • Enable capabilities supporting claims development, formulation optimization, consumer superiority, and speed‑to‑market.
  • Breakthrough Innovation & Scientific Enablement
    • Lead adoption of advanced technologies such as AI‑driven formulation modeling, in‑silico testing, digital twins, and Real‑World Data (RWD) for Oral Health.
    • Enable digital sensory science, observatory platforms, and virtual testing to accelerate consumer insight generation.
    • Partner with External Innovation teams on digital platforms supporting scouting and partnerships in Oral Health technologies.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership & Governance
    • Act as the “connective tissue” across R&D, Regulatory, Medical, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Digital & Tech.
    • Shape portfolio prioritization, investment trade‑offs, and value realization for Oral Health technology initiatives.
  • Product Ownership
    • Serve as senior product owner for Oral Health‑critical digital platforms (e.g., innovation PPM, RWD, sensory tools, superiority dashboards).
    • Ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, and compliant with enterprise architecture and data governance standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Science, Engineering, Technology, Data, or a related discipline; advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD, MBA) preferred.
  • Significant experience in Digital, Data, and Technology leadership roles, with direct accountability for shaping and delivering multi‑year digital and data roadmaps in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience partnering with R&D, Innovation, or Scientific functions within FMCG, Consumer Healthcare, Life Sciences, or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced digital and data capabilities, including AI/ML, analytics, data platforms, and emerging technologies supporting product development, innovation, or consumer insight.
  • Strong experience acting as a senior technology partner or product leader, translating business and scientific strategies into scalable digital solutions.
  • Track record of product ownership or platform leadership, including prioritisation, value realisation, and lifecycle management of critical digital products.
  • Experience operating within regulated and data‑governed environments, with working knowledge of data governance, privacy, security, and compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to lead through influence rather than authority, operating effectively across cross‑functional teams including R&D, Regulatory, Medical, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Digital & Technology.
  • Strong strategic thinking, portfolio management, and investment decision‑making capability, balancing innovation ambition with delivery, risk, and value.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge science, technology, and business outcomes at senior leadership levels.
