Full-Time or Part-Time
About Us
Hale and Hawthorn is a small, technology-enabled law firm providing specialist legal services across England and Wales.
We offer an approachable, collaborative working environment where individuals have genuine responsibility and the opportunity to influence how the business develops.
Our marketing and technology platforms generate a consistent pipeline of work, allowing our solicitors to focus on delivering excellent legal advice rather than generating new business.
We are looking for an Employment Solicitor to play an important role in our established and growing settlement agreement service, with opportunities to contribute to the wider development of our employment practice.
The Role
You will advise employees on settlement agreements, conduct client appointments, explain the legal and practical implications of proposed terms, and provide clear, commercially focused advice.
A typical day involves approximately two to three settlement agreement matters, alongside associated client correspondence and negotiations. You will be supported by an employment paralegal.
You will also have opportunities to improve processes, contribute ideas and help develop our client service.
As the practice expands, we anticipate opportunities for increased responsibility and career progression.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Ideally 2+ years' PQE, although strong candidates at other levels will be considered;
- Relevant employment law experience, particularly settlement agreements;
- Sound commercial judgement and a practical approach;
- Excellent communication and client care skills;
- Confidence managing matters independently; and
- An interest in technology and improving legal service delivery.
What We Offer
- Annual bonus opportunity of up to 20%;
- Full-time or part-time working;
- 35 days' annual leave, including bank holidays;
- Company pension;
- Practising certificate and agreed professional subscriptions;
- Altrincham office, with hybrid working considered after probation;
- No requirement to generate your own work;
- A collaborative environment with opportunities for progression.
If you enjoy client-facing advisory work and want to contribute to the growth of a modern legal practice, we would be delighted to hear from you.
