Due to continued growth, we are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team, covering the South East region. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a respected brand and play a central role in expanding our presence across the UK.

About the Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability across your region. You will manage a well-established portfolio of existing accounts while actively identifying new opportunities within:

  • Joinery manufacturers
  • Timber merchants
  • Timber-consuming industries

You will promote Prowoods full product range, including clear softwoods, hardwoods, machined timber and sawn products, ensuring customers receive the right timber solutions to support their business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow existing customer accounts across the South East region
  • Identify, target and secure new business opportunities
  • Promote the complete Prowood and Haldane Group timber product range
  • Build strong, long-lasting commercial relationships
  • Achieve agreed sales and margin targets
  • Use CRM and BI tools to monitor performance and highlight growth opportunities
  • Monitor market and competitor activity to help shape future strategies
  • Work closely with procurement, logistics and operations teams to deliver outstanding service
  • Attend industry events, exhibitions and customer meetings as required

Skills & Experience

We are looking for a highly motivated sales professional with:

  • Proven experience within the timber industry
  • Strong knowledge of hardwoods, clear softwoods, machined and sawn timber products
  • A successful track record in developing both new and existing accounts
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to spot profitable opportunities
  • Effective territory management skills and strong IT/CRM capability
  • A full UK driving licence
