We're looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our Newry team. In this role you'll supervise the yard team day-to-day, delivering safe, efficient loading, picking, and customer service. You'll lead from the front, set the standard, and bring the best out of your team. Most of all, it's a role where what you do really matters; every day you'll help our customers build with confidence.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skills that will support a successful long-term career with Haldane Fisher.

What you'll be doing:

  • Allocate and supervise daily operations within the yard.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels, stock condition and ensuring high standards of housekeeping.
  • Daily management and enforcement of health & safety, yard safety and working-at-height controls.
  • Promoting high levels of customer service, serving customers politely and professionally.
  • Coordinating and assisting with deliveries, customer collections, and daily operational duties.
  • Ensure accurate, timely loading and picking.
  • Loading and unloading customer and company vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Support and train operatives.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Yard supervisory experience.
  • FLT competence.
  • Safety and people skills.
  • Able to meet the health & safety, legislative and competency prerequisites for the role, including any required licences, tickets, training, and Opus SMS responsibilities.
  • Personal attributes aligned to our values with a safety-first, customer-focused, and reliable approach.

Desirable:

  • Merchant experience.
  • IOSH Working Safely.
