People and Culture Advisor Who We Are Haldane Group, trading as Haldane Fisher, is a family-owned builders' merchant and timber business, employing around 700 colleagues across Northern Ireland, England and the Isle of brands including Plumb Master, GE Robinson (Prowood) and Key Hardware, our success has been built on strong relationships, quality products and, most importantly, our people.

A brilliant opportunity has arisen for an experienced People and Culture Advisor to join a proactive People and Culture Team.

This is a busy and varied role where you will build relationships with Managers, supporting them through all people related issues in a fair, consistent and compliant manner.

Our People & Culture team plays a key role in supporting our colleagues and ensuring we continue to provide a positive, inclusive and rewarding place to work.

Location This role is based at our Newry Head Office .

Your Role The HR Advisor role offers excellent variety and scope.

You will be a trusted Advisor to managers and colleagues, supporting across the full employee lifecycle.

As you would expect , no two days are the same.

You will work closely with an experienced People & Culture team and be supported by the Group People & Culture Manager.

What you'll be doing: Being the first point of contact for HR queries from Managers Deliver a positive onboarding experience for all new starters, including coordination of induction activity, probation reviews and early-stage support.

Support workforce planning and maintain accurate headcount data.

Coaching Managers through each stage of the disciplinary and grievance process Leading on absence management, liaising with occupational health and providing return-to-work support as required Advising on maternity, paternity and flexible working requests Delivering bitesize training sessions to People Managers Administer benefits programmes, respond to colleague queries on pay, benefits and allowances, partner with Payroll to ensure the accuracy of contractual and pay changes Contributing to other ongoing HR projects Using people data and case management information to identify trends and support decision-making Help promote wellbeing across the Group This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience, influence people initiatives across the Group and develop your career within a supportive and growing business.

What are we looking for * You have at least 2 years' experience in a fast-paced HR environment. * You will be CIPD qualified (or working towards) * You have strong knowledge of UK (GB & NI) employment legislation. * You are confident using HR systems, Excel and reporting tools. * You are highly organised with strong attention to detail. * You are proactive and customer focused.
