About the RoleAs Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability across your region. You will manage a well-established portfolio of existing accounts while actively identifying new opportunities within:
- Joinery manufacturers
- Timber merchants
- Timber-consuming industries
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow existing customer accounts across the South East region
- Identify, target and secure new business opportunities
- Promote the complete Prowood and Haldane Group timber product range
- Build strong, long-lasting commercial relationships
- Achieve agreed sales and margin targets
- Use CRM and BI tools to monitor performance and highlight growth opportunities
- Monitor market and competitor activity to help shape future strategies
- Work closely with procurement, logistics and operations teams to deliver outstanding service
- Attend industry events, exhibitions and customer meetings as required
- Proven experience within the timber industry
- Strong knowledge of hardwoods, clear softwoods, machined and sawn timber products
- A successful track record in developing both new and existing accounts
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to spot profitable opportunities
- Effective territory management skills and strong IT/CRM capability
- A full UK driving licence
