We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Mill Operative to join our team in Garstang. This is a hands-on role within a busy timber processing environment, supporting the efficient operation of our mill and ensuring high standards are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general labouring duties within the department
- Work on the back of the moulders, stacking and packing timber as it comes off the machine
- Ensure timber packs are wrapped, stacked, and labelled correctly
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the department and across the branch
- Take responsibility for health and safety, ensuring your actions do not put yourself or others at risk
- Participate in training as required, including forklift and crane operation
- Support additional duties such as stocktaking when required
- Work overtime and demonstrate flexibility with start and finish times in line with business needs
